New Omakase World Market Is Perfect For Short SFO Layover
Most people assume a short layover at SFO means staying inside the terminal and eating premade sandwiches and overpriced airport food.
Not anymore.
A new 50,000-square-foot food hall from the Omakase Restaurant Group, the Bay Area hospitality company behind several acclaimed restaurants, has opened Omakase World Market —only about four miles from the airport.
Diners will find sushi, dumplings, burgers, Italian dishes, matcha pastries, cocktails, and more—all under one roof.
For anyone with under 5 hours between flights at SFO, it could be one of the easiest—and tastiest—airport escapes in the Bay Area.
What to expect at Omakase World Market:
- six food concepts
- ordering kiosks
- indoor/outdoor seating
- weekday hours
- a 10-minute ride from SFO in a taxi/ Uber depending on traffic
It’s close enough to satisfy a craving for real Bay Area dining without venturing all the way into San Francisco—making it one of the newest additions to my list of worthwhile airport layover escapes.
