New York to Nice: American Airlines Adds New Nonstop Flight
Getting to the French Riviera from the U.S. is about to get a little easier.
Beginning May 6, 2027, American Airlines will launch daily nonstop service between New York-JFK and Nice Côte d’Azur Airport, giving travelers another direct route to the Riviera — and one less reason to drag a suitcase through Charles de Gaulle.
An end date for the 2027 season has not yet been announced.
Why This Matters
The new flight is part of a much bigger trend: Americans are increasingly flying straight to the South of France rather than treating Paris as the obligatory first stop.
Nice Airport says the new American service will bring its North American network to 10 long-haul routes, including four serving the New York market.
Even better for travelers who like the French Riviera, when the beach clubs have packed away their umbrellas, La Compagnie has extended its all-business-class Nice-Newark service through the 2026–27 winter, giving Nice its first year-round nonstop connection to New York.
Once you land in Nice, you’re already on the Côte d’Azur. Antibes is roughly 30 minutes away, Cannes about 40 minutes, and Monaco around 40 minutes in the other direction, depending on traffic. And there are plenty of ways to explore the French Riviera by train once you land.
