Michelin-Starred Chefs Open New Tahoe City Restaurant

Tahoe City’s dining scene just got a major addition. Savoie, a refined new restaurant from husband-and-wife chefs Mark and Alison Sullivan, officially opened on July 1, bringing French, Swiss, and Italian Alpine flavors to North Lake Tahoe.

The restaurant marks the couple’s first venture together and occupies the lovingly restored Pfeifer House, a longtime Tahoe landmark that has been transformed into an elegant, chalet-inspired dining destination.

The seasonal menu celebrates Swiss, Italian, and French mountain cuisine with an elevated California touch, featuring handmade pastas, locally sourced ingredients, fresh seafood, and thoughtfully crafted cocktails. Inside, warm wood, stone, and a cozy fireplace create the feeling of a European mountain lodge—an inviting setting after a day on the trails, ski slopes, or the lake.

Why it’s worth a stop: Tahoe may be best known for four seasons of adventure, but Savoie gives visitors another reason to linger in town.
