The White Lotus Season 4 Is Filming on the French Riviera
The next White Lotus vacation comes with red carpets, palace hotels, and apparently a little resort rivalry.
Season 4 of HBO’s The White Lotus is set on the French Riviera during the Cannes Film Festival, with filming stretching from Cannes and Saint-Tropez to Monaco and Paris. And this time, one White Lotus isn’t enough: the story includes two fictional properties, the White Lotus Cannes and the White Lotus du Cap.
Hôtel Martinez & Cannes Get a Close Up
In Cannes, the fictional White Lotus Cannes is played by the luxury Hôtel Martinez, the landmark Art Deco palace that opened on La Croisette in 1929.
The setting isn’t incidental. Season 4 takes place over one week during the Cannes Film Festival, when the city fills with actors, directors, producers, parties, premieres, and some very competitive fashion and people-watching.

The Martinez, now part of Hyatt’s Unbound collection, is already part of that world.
The hotel has been closely tied to the festival for decades and sit directly on La Croisette, about a mile from the Palais des Festivals and its famous red carpet.
The 410-room hotel brings plenty of White Lotus-worthy scenery of its own, including a private beach across the Croisette, the Michelin-starred La Palme d’Or restaurant, and one of Europe’s largest hotel penthouse suites. Which star will get to stay and play there?
But here’s where Season 4 gets particularly interesting: there are two White Lotus hotels competing for status.
Saint-Tropez Shines
The second, the White Lotus du Cap, is played by Château de la Messardière, one of Saint-Tropez’s best hotels.
Producer David Bernad has already hinted that which hotel characters stay in matters, with the du Cap considered the more coveted address—a distinction that feeds into a season exploring ego, narcissism, fame, and endless budgets. A luxury-hotel hierarchy during the Cannes Film Festival?
Mike White may barely need a script.
Château de la Messardière also operates Jardin Tropezina on Pampelonne Beach, though HBO has yet to confirm whether the beach club will appear on screen.
I’d like to think a Pampelonne Beach party scene is a given.
Monaco Joins the Cast
HBO has confirmed the principality as another Season 4 filming location, and the Casino de Monte-Carlo has emerged as one of the recognizable settings used for the production.

Frankly, I can’t think of a better place for The White Lotus to lay their Monaco scene.
The Belle Époque casino sits on Casino Square alongside the swanky Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo and Café de Paris, with supercars circling outside, yachts filling Port Hercule below, and enough displays of wealth within a few blocks to keep a White Lotus script going for several episodes.
The plot hasn’t revealed exactly how Monaco fits in, which makes this one more fun to speculate.
A Lamborghini ride around the Principality?
A high-stakes night at the roulette table?
A late-night tryst in a narrow Old Town lane?
The mind reels.
Season 4 of The White Lotus is expected to premiere in the first half of 2027, though HBO has not announced an exact release date.
Frankly, I can hardly wait until we find out where the characters go when the Cannes Film Festival doesn’t provide quite enough drama.
