One of San Francisco’s most beloved summer music traditions, Outside Lands, returns to Golden Gate Park August 7–9, 2026, with headliners including Charli xcx, The Strokes, and RÜFÜS DU SOL, along with a mix of other pop, electronic, and indie-rock performances.
While this is a three-day ticketed event, San Francisco is full of many other free concerts and music festivals.
Outside Lands isn’t just a weekend of great music; it’s also a taste of the San Francisco Bay Area’s famous food scene. There will be more than 100 restaurants, including pasta dishes from 96-year-old Original Joe’s in North Beach and espresso martinis from the Balboa Café, a Cow Hollow institution.
Parachute, the pastry darling with long lines in the Ferry Building, will be there too.
Want to turn the weekend into a broader San Francisco vacation? The festival in Golden Gate Park puts you near some of the best neighborhoods in the city, including the Inner Sunset and Irving Street, loaded with casual restaurants, bakeries, ramen shops, and cafés.
You’ll also be near Haight-Ashbury, where you can dive into the area’s famous counterculture history.
If escaping to warmer climes is on your mind, consider a day trip from San Francisco to places like Napa Valley, where the temps will be at least 20 degrees warmer in August.
📍Visitors might want to consider planning ahead by checking availability for activities such as City Tours, Alcatraz tickets, and Sunset Cruises. Dates around Outside Lands book up quickly.
