Gingerbread houses, wreath-making workshops, Dickens-era carolers, and visits with Santa are all part of the holiday lineup at the beautiful Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay, located just 30 minutes south of San Francisco.
The resort and golf course sit on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean and are going all out for the festive season, offering family activities, special dining experiences, and plenty of reasons to take a day trip or weekend getaway from San Francisco.

December also brings complimentary carolers on select dates, photos with Santa on December 13 and 20, and Christmas Eve storytelling with Mrs. Claus.
Food is a big part of the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay festivities, too.
Diwali brunch kicks things off November 7–8 ($199), followed by Thanksgiving dinner at Navio on November 26 ($275), featuring turkey, Beef Wellington, Pacific oysters, and caviar.
Thanksgiving brunch ($255) is offered November 26, 28, and 29.
For the grown-ups, there’s a Holiday Scotch Lounge (October 22–January 3), festive afternoon tea on December weekends ($135), and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day tasting dinners ($275).
An eight-course New Year’s Eve dinner ($395) closes out 2026, followed by celebratory New Year’s brunches ($255).
