The FIFA World Cup is returning to the U.S. for the first time in more than three decades, and once again, the Bay Area has been selected as a host.

High five!

Fans from around the world will be flocking to San Francisco and neighboring cities to take in six matches, with the first on June 13.

But even if you don’t plan to attend a FIFA World Cup match, travelers without a ticket can still look forward to San Francisco’s free community watch parties, with big screen TVs, merch, food, and more.

There will be one at Pier 39 and another at Thrive City near Chase Center, where hundreds of other events, concerts, and Golden State Warrior games take place year-round.

If you love food trucks, check out the watch parties at Spark Social, a permanent food truck “park” where guests can enjoy local eats, a lively beer garden, and plenty of space to gather with friends and fellow fans.

Whether you’re visiting for the first time or making a return trip, the best way to experience San Francisco is through its unique neighborhoods, including North Beach, Chinatown and the Mission District.

The city is also home to world-renowned attractions, including Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge, the Ferry Building, Golden Gate Park, the Presidio, and amazing family-friendly hotels across many neighborhoods.

If you’re just popping in for one match and want to make a San Francisco vacation out of it, consider covering more ground and checking out some of the city’s top sites on a guided tour, such as this one in a Vintage VW Bus, an e-Bike across the Golden Gate Bridge, or an irreverent tour of North Beach and Chinatown.

Most importantly—-Go Team USA!
